Housekeeping Supervisor

We are looking for someone to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the Housekeeping Department for Gunnerside Lodge.

Requirements

  • Applicants will have considerable experience from similar roles in private households and/or commercial hotel environments.  Must be able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of how to clean and care for internal rooms and furnishings, all types of clothing and fabrics. Repair and conservation of items. Maintenance of all linen and laundry inventories.  Additional skills such as cooking or flower arranging would be beneficial.
  • It is essential to have excellent communication, organisational and planning skills and be a strong leader/motivator of people. IT literacy and a driving licence are essential. Skills training is available and on job training will be given.

Additional Details

  • The role is full time and permanent with an attractive starting salary and company benefits.
  • Accommodation is also available.
  • There will be a need to be flexible with your approach to work and with the hours worked especially at busy periods.  This will mean working some weekends and/or evenings especially during the shoot season – August to November.

Butler

We have a vacancy for a Butler to join the Gunnerside Lodge Household.

Requirements

  • Applicants will be able to prove they have some experience from similar roles in private households and/or commercial hotel environments.  Must be able to demonstrate that they are able receive and assist guests during their stay, set tables and serve all types of meals and drinks and a knowledge of how to clean and care for silverware, crystal and china for example. Other duties will include maintaining the store inventory and order supplies for example.
  • It is essential to have excellent communication, organisational and planning skills. IT literacy and a driving licence are essential. Skills training is available and on job training will be given.
